Website Conversion Checklist for 2026
A website does not convert because it has more sections, animations, or buttons. It converts when visitors quickly understand the offer, trust the business, and can complete the next step without friction. Use this checklist to review those fundamentals before spending more on traffic.
1. Give every page one primary goal
Decide what the page should help a visitor do: request a quote, call, open WhatsApp, book a consultation, or view a product. Secondary actions can remain available, but they should not compete visually with the main action.
2. Make the first screen specific
The heading should say what you deliver and who it helps. Support it with a short outcome-focused sentence, one primary call to action, and relevant proof. Avoid broad claims that could describe any agency or business.
3. Check the complete mobile journey
Review the site at a narrow mobile width, not only in a desktop browser. Check menu access, text wrapping, touch targets, fixed buttons, form fields, modals, and the final contact step. Floating actions should never cover content and should move out of the way near forms and the footer.
4. Remove avoidable loading cost
Load only the CSS and JavaScript needed by the current page. Resize images for their display size, use modern formats where practical, lazy-load below-the-fold media, and avoid loading complete icon or font libraries for a small number of symbols.
5. Put proof close to the decision
Show relevant projects, verified reviews, business profiles, and clear deliverables near important calls to action. A short, specific case study is usually more useful than a long grid of unrelated work.
6. Reduce contact friction
Ask only for information needed to start the conversation. Explain what happens after the visitor submits or opens WhatsApp. On mobile, use the correct input types and keep labels available for accessibility.
7. Measure intent and completion separately
A click on a WhatsApp or quote button proves intent, not a completed enquiry. Name that event as an initiation. Count a real conversion only when your website backend, CRM, or WhatsApp Business webhook confirms that the lead was received.
8. Run a final trust and SEO check
Confirm that titles, descriptions, headings, service copy, business details, canonical URLs, structured data, sitemap entries, privacy information, and external profile links are accurate. Do not publish invented dates, results, ratings, or testimonials.
A practical priority order
- Fix broken journeys, mobile overlap, and incorrect information.
- Clarify the offer and primary call to action.
- Add relevant proof and reduce form friction.
- Improve page speed and measurement.
- Test again after deployment with real devices and production analytics.
